Gardening

The North Balwyn Rotary Club’s Gardening Project has got off
to a great start with the students from Camberwell Grammar, Xavier, MLC and interest from Ruyton Girls School, 2 girls first term and a maybe three more in term two, all giving us a keen group each week.
So far this year with term one now finished we visited 13 Gardens much to the delight of the owners.
Term 2 begins for us, Friday 23 April with some fresh gardens to attend to by our teams.
Please check the roster and see where you can assist the present members to continue this important service to our local community.

Our Guest Speaker is Tim Piper AM who will speak on Australian industry - Prospering in a (post) COVID environment.

Tim Piper AM is Victorian Group Director of the Australian industry Group for Victoria. He was responsible for the rejuvenation of the Australian Retail Traders Association of Victoria. He gave the association a profile that it did not previously have, and linked it into government in a way that allowed to be heard and respected.

He has been with AIG for 18 years and has excellent relations with government: he chairs and/or acts on many committees actively advocating for industry.  Tim has a Law degree from the University of Tasmania and an MBA from RMIT.

The citation for his Australian Honour read, "For significant service to industry and manufacturing, to skills training, and to multicultural youth."
